On April 15, 2022, in Hanoi, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) held a ceremony to announce and hand over the Appointment Decision of Deputy Director of the Anti-Money Laundering Department under the Banking Supervision Agency.

The ceremony was attended by SBV Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dzung, representatives from the Central Bank’s Party Committee, the Organization and Personnel Department, together with leaders of the Banking Supervision Agency, leaders and key officers of the Anti-Money Laundering Department, etc.
At the ceremony, Mr. Dang Duy Cuong, Deputy Director General of the Organization and Personnel Department, announced Decision No. 671/QD-NHNN dated April 12, 2022 of the SBV Governor appointing Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Tho as Deputy Director of the Anti-Money Laundering Department under the Banking Supervision Agency, starting from April 15, 2022. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Tho was previously Head of the General Affairs Division of the Anti-Money Laundering Department under the Banking Supervision Agency.

On behalf of the SBV’s Board of Management, SBV Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dzung handed over the Decision to and congratulated Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Tho on her new appointment. The Deputy Governor emphasized that this new appointment was decided with a view to helping the Anti-Money Laundering Department to meet the heavy workload that the Department would have to undertake in the coming time, as well as to strengthen the Department's leadership. On behalf of the SBV's Board of Management, the Deputy Governor wished that the newly appointed Deputy Director and the leadership of the Anti-Money Laundering Department would promote the spirit of solidarity in order to fulfill the tasks assigned by the SBV's Board of Management regarding the work of anti-money laundering. This is not only to implement the responsibilities of the SBV, but also to fulfill Vietnam’s responsibilities in response to the domestic and international requirements.
The SBV Deputy Governor expressed his beliefs that Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Tho, with her qualifications and professional experience, together with all the leaders and officers of the Anti-Money Laundering Department, would continue to successfully accomplish all assigned tasks.

In her statement, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Tho expressed her deep gratitude to the SBV’s Board of Management and the Central Bank’s Party Committee for their trust. She promised to do her best, with the highest sense of responsibility, to successfully accomplish all of the assigned tasks.
