SBV Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu meets Korean Financial Industry Union mission
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu, as President of Vietnam National Union of Banking Workers, warmly welcomed the working visit of the KFIU mission headed by Vice President CHOI Jae Youn to the SBV. The SBV Deputy Governor also expressed his hope that the working visit of the KFIU would further promote the good and long-term partnership between the two banking sectors in general, and between the two trade unions in particular. This was also an opportunity for the two sides to exchange about their respective trade union activities, and to tighten the relationship between the two countries.
The SBV Deputy Governor emphasized that, over the past time, the SBV Governor and the SBV Board of Management have always paid a lot of attention to the trade union activities. Therefore, it has always been the case that a SBV Deputy Governor shall assume the role of President of Vietnam National Union of Banking Workers. Besides, Vietnam's banking industry has had more than 30 years of operations with the model of a banking industry trade union. The journey so far has proven that this banking industry trade union model is effective and appropriate with the characteristics, the functions and the organizational structure of the banking industry in Vietnam.
According to the SBV Deputy Governor, in the current context of the world and domestic economic fluctuations, Vietnamese enterprises have been facing many difficulties. Therefore, many employees have been directly affected and faced with numerous risks. Through the working visit of the KFIU mission, the SBV Deputy Governor hoped that the two sides would be able to exchange and share more experience in the areas of education and the protection of workers' rights, as well as job and income security for workers.
An overview of the meeting
The SBV Deputy Governor also assessed that the results of the trade union activities depend a lot on the full time trade union officers. Over the past time, Vietnam National Union of Banking Workers has implemented a lot of cultural and sports activities for the banking workers, linked with the accomplishment of the professional tasks of the banking sector.
In the coming time, Vietnam National Union of Banking Workers would continue to introduce more new initiatives, such as the upcoming 1st Sports Festival of the Banking Sector, in which all banks, including the foreign banks operating in Vietnam in general and the Korean banks in particular, can participate, thereby enhancing the coherence in the banking sector trade union system in Vietnam, and further promoting the good and long-term partnership between Vietnam’s banks and banks from other countries.
For his part, KFIU Vice President CHOI Jae Youn assessed that the trade union activities of Vietnam’s banking system have been strongly promoted and have achieved encouraging results. He expressed his wishes that the cooperative relationship between the two banking sectors and the two trade unions will be further promoted in the coming time.
Also within the framework of the working visit, the KFIU mission had a tour of the Hall of Fame of Vietnam’s banking industry.
