On 12 November 2024, in Hanoi, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), organised a Training Workshop on "Integrating gender equality into policy formulation at the State Bank of Vietnam". This Workshop was held within the framework of a GIZ-financed project which aims to support Vietnam’s reforms of the financial system toward green and inclusive growth, with due consideration of social affairs and gender equality.
Participants at the Workshop
Promoting gender equality and integrating social and gender factors into the country's sustainable development process is one of the SBV's priorities with the goal of implementing effectively the Government's Resolution on the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the 2021-2030 period, with one objective being “continuing to narrow the gender gaps, creating favourable conditions and opportunities for both women and men to participate in and benefit equally from all aspects of the social life, contributing to the sustainable development of the country”.
Mr. Le Viet Hung, Deputy Director General of the SBV Human Resources Department, speaks at the Training Workshop
In this regard, the SBV has developed and set out several objectives, tasks, and solutions in the banking sector’s Implementation Plan of the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the 2021-2030 period, which aims to raise the awareness and the capacity of the officials directly involved in the policy formulation at the SBV’s entities related to the gender issues, promoting gender equality, as well as integrating gender equality into the policy formulation of the banking sector.
Beside that, through the Workshop, the representatives from various SBV entities could have the opportunities to share and learn experience from one another about the organisation of activities to promote a more substantive and effective formulation of legal documents.
