Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Country Director Tomoyuki Kimura of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Vietnam on May 13.

At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong asserted that Vietnamese Government highly appreciated the ADB’s support and assistance for Vietnam over the past years in various fields, especially the finance and banking sector, micro-finance, the development of medium and small enterprises, and the reform of the state –owned enterprises. She expressed her hope for further support from the ADB in the coming time. Moreover, the SBV Deputy Governor briefed the guest of Vietnam’s socio-economic development strategy for 2011 – 2020 period. On behalf of Vietnamese Government in general and the SBV in particular, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong expressed her sincere thanks to Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura for his great contribution to promoting the cooperative relation between Vietnam and the ADB.
For his part, Mr. Tomoyuki Kimura commended the achievements that Vietnam in general and the SBV in particular have obtained in the implementation of solutions on stabilizing macro-economy, curbing inflation, and supporting economic growth, thereby attracting foreign investors. Besides, he asserted that in the coming time, he would continue monitoring and doing his best to contribute to enhancing strategic partnership between the two sides in many fields.
