The General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO) has announced that the consumer price index (CPI) increases by 0.16% in May against the previous month, and increases by 0.2% in comparison with December, 2014.

Specifically, the price of nine groups of commodities out of eleven groups of commodities increases. The price of the group of housing and construction materials registers the highest increase of 1.27% in comparison with the previous month. The price of the transport group increases by 1.02%. The group of culture, entertainment and tourism increases by 0.39%. The price of other groups of commodities slightly increases.
The price of the group of food and catering services declines by 0.22%, with the price of food decreasing by 0.46%, the price of foodstuff decreasing by 0.29% and the price of dinning-out service increasing by 0.23%.
The price of the group of education is unchanged.
The gold price is down by 0.27%; and VND depreciates by 0.36% against the US dollar.
