Cabinet members will discuss the Report on the country's socio-economic performances in May and in the first five months of 2015, the implementation of Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP, the Report on the implementation of the Decree on policies on aquatic development, measures to accelerate tourism and draft Resolution on preventing smuggling, trade frauds and fake commodities.
Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh presented the Report on the country's socio-economic development performances in May and over the past five months of the year.
Accordingly, the macro-economy stabilized; the Consumer Price Index slightly increased; more loans were given to businesses to ease their capital need for production; Official Development Assistance (ODA) disbursement and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) showed positive signs.
The processing and manufacturing industry maintained its high growth; the total retail sales and revenues sharply increased; measures to ensure social security were synchronously and effectively launched; the political security and social order and safety were guaranteed.
However, Minister Vinh stressed challenges and difficulties for the economy including the decreasing exports of domestic enterprises, the increase in trade deficit and severe droughts in the coastal central and the Central Highlands.
