The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) organized a ceremony in Hanoi on June 11 to award the Friendship Order and Commemorative Medal for the development of Vietnam banking system to Mr. Sanjay Kalra, IMF Resident Representative for Vietnam.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Mitsuhiro Furusawa, IMF Deputy Managing Director; SBV Governor Nguyen Van Binh; senior leaders from several SBV departments and officers from IMF Representative Office in Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, SBV Governor Nguyen Van Binh congratulated Mr. Sanjay Kalra on being awarded the Friendship Order from the President of Vietnam for his great contribution to the enhancement of the cooperative relation between the IMF and Vietnam, and the Commemorative Medal for the development of Vietnam Banking System. These rewards reflect the acknowledgement of Vietnamese Government and the SBV about the contribution and the cooperation of the IMF in general and Mr. Sanjay Kalra in particular in the development of Vietnam economy and the banking sector over the past time.
For his part, IMF Resident Representative for Vietnam Sanjay Kalra expressed his honor and pride when being awarded the noble rewards from the President of Vietnam and the SBV. He also expressed his sincere thanks to Vietnamese Government and the SBV for supporting him accomplish his tasks in Vietnam over the past time. He affirmed that he would continue contributing and supporting for the socio-economic development in Vietnam.
