The General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO) has announced that the consumer price index (CPI) increases by 0.35% in June against the previous month, and increases by 1% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
Specifically, the price of eight groups of commodities out of eleven groups of commodities increases. The price of the transport group registers the highest increase of 3.54% in comparison with the previous month. The price of the medicine and health services increases by 0.38%. The price of the groups of housing and construction materials; culture, entertainment and tourism; and beverage and cigarette increases by 0.3%, 0.26% and 0.24% respectively. The price of other groups of commodities slightly increases.
The price of two groups of food and catering services and postal services decreases by 0.03%. Notably, the price of food decreases by 0.62% as compared to that of May, 2015.
The price of the group of education is unchanged.
The gold price is down by 0.08%; and VND depreciates by 0.62% against the US dollar.
