Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr. Andrew Cainey, Partner at Tony Blair Associates, in Hanoi on September 22.
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh expressed his sincere thanks for the support and effective and practical consultancy of the Office of Tony Blair for Vietnamese Government and the SBV; at the same time, he hoped for further cooperation in various fields in the coming time.
Moreover, the SBV Deputy Governor briefed the guest of socio-economic situation in Vietnam and encouraging results in management of monetary policy and banking operations over the past time, and monetary policy measures in the last months of 2015. He said that in the process of restructuring the banking sector, the SBV obtained initial results in resolving NPLs and completing legal framework for banking operations. He expressed his hope for further support and experience sharing from the Office of Tony Blair.
For his part, Mr. Andrew Cainey expressed his sincere thanks for Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh’s warm hospitality. He also expressed his impression on achievements in socio-economy that Vietnam obtained as well as the SBV’s results in the management of monetary policy in order to contribute to stabilizing macro-economy, curbing inflation, enhancing economic growth and creating favorable environment to attract foreign investment. He highly appreciated the support of the SBV for SMEs, especially the establishment of Guarantee Fund for SMEs.
In addition, the two sides exchanged their views on enhancing the ability of the SMEs to get access to financial resources, developing financial markets, the role of technology and the technological application to baking operations…
