Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr. Go Wattarabe, Chief Executive Officer for Asia & Oceania of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., in Hanoi on February 22.
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh warmly welcomed Mr. Go Wattarabe and his delegation to Vietnam and highly appreciated the comprehensive cooperation and encouraging results of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ,Ltd. and Vietinbank. He said that, in general, the cooperation between the two banks contributed to enhancing the relation in the fields of economy, commerce and direct investment as well as supporting the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan. He expressed his hope that with the cooperation with the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ,Ltd., Vietinbank will vigorously develop and become one of the leading banks in Vietnam’s banking sector.
For his part, Mr. Go Wattarabe exchanged with Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh about the role of strategic shareholder and supporting activities of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. at Vietinbank. Accordingly, he said that specialists of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. supported Vietinbank for formulating mid- term trading plan until 2017 with many specific strategies and trading measures. He asserted that the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. would support Vietinbank for implementing this plan in order to obtain the defined objectives.
