According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), the consumer price index (CPI) increases by 0.33% in April against the previous month, and by 1.33% as compared to that of December 2015.
Specifically, the price of eight groups of commodities out of eleven groups of commodities increases. The price of the group of transportation registers the highest increase of 1.73%, followed by the group of housing and construction materials, 0.71%; medicines and medical services, 0.45%; education services, 0.37%; and beverages and tobacco, 0.17%; family equipment and appliances, other commodities and services, textiles, hats and footwear increases by 0.1%, 0.1% and 0.05% respectively.
Prices of restaurant and catering services, and postal services remains stable in the month while the category of culture, entertainment and tourism experience a slice of 0.01 percent.
Apart from this, the domestic gold price is up by 0.3% due to fluctuation in accordance with the world gold and petroleum prices, while the price of US dollar remains stable, just slightly increases by 0.05% against VND.
