Governor Le Minh Hung of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr. Tomiyoshi Kenichi, Vice President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Hanoi on June 17, 2016 at the headquaters of the SBV.
Attending the meeting were Mr. Yasuo Fujita, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to Vietnam, Mr. Takashi Sakakibara, Chief Adviser of Project supporting to the restructure of banking system.
JICA Vice-President Tomiyoshi Kenichi and Governor Le Minh Hung were very happy to witness the fruitful cooperation between Japan and Vietnam as well as the effective technical assistance, policy consultancy of the JICA for the SBV over the past years.
Mr. Kenichi Tomioyshi and Japanese specialists had briefed SBV Governor the results of JICA reseach on Vietnam banking system and the main contents of JICA propasal for the restructure of Vietnam banking system.
SBV Governor highly appreciated the achievements and expereinces of Japan in the cause of restructuring Japanese banking system and NPL resolution in the past years. The Governor also expressed his gratitude for valuable recomendations and assessment made by the JICA researchers and specialits that will be sellected by Government agencies and the SBV to apply in the cause of restructuring banking system in accordance with Vietnam legal framework and practical situation of commercial banks in Vietnam.
