On June 30, 2026, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) held a ceremony to announce and present the Prime Minister's decision appointing Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang as a member of the Board of Directors and General Director of the VBSP.
Overview of the ceremony
At the ceremony, a representative of the SBV Personnel and Organization Department announced Decision No. 1169/QD-TTg dated June 29, 2026, issued by the Prime Minister, appointing Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang as a member of the Board of Directors and General Director of the VBSP, and Decision No. 55/QD-DUNHNN dated June 29, 2026, approving her appointment as Secretary of the Party Committee of the VBSP for the 2025–2030 term. Both decisions take effect from July 1, 2026.

Speaking at the ceremony, SBV Governor Pham Duc An affirmed that the VBSP serves as a specialized policy bank of the State, playing an important role in implementing the Party’s and the State’s major policies on poverty reduction and social welfare. Through its preferential lending programs, the VBSP has made significant contributions to the implementation of national target programs, promoted inclusive economic development, strengthened social security, and enhanced public confidence in the Party’s and the State’s policies.
Congratulating Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang on her appointment, Governor Pham Duc An expressed his confidence that, with her experience, professional expertise, and strong sense of responsibility, she would continue to demonstrate her leadership capabilities, successfully fulfill her assigned responsibilities, and make important contributions to the continued development of the VBSP.

Regarding the future directions, the Governor requested the VBSP to continue strengthening its financial capacity, ensuring safe and effective operations, and meeting the credit needs of poor households and other policy beneficiaries. He also called on the VBSP to further develop its distinctive policy credit models, expand its lending scale, diversify funding sources, accelerate digital transformation and operational modernization, strengthen governance capacity, enhance transparency, and continuously improve service quality, particularly for people living in remote, mountainous, and disadvantaged areas.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang expressed her sincere gratitude to the Party, the State, and the SBV leadership for their trust and confidence in assigning her this important responsibility. She said that the appointment was both a great honor and a significant responsibility, and expressed her hope that she would continue to receive the guidance and support of the Party, the State, the SBV leadership, and the Board of Directors of the VBSP.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang affirmed that, together with the entire leadership, management team, and staff of the VBSP, she would make every effort to successfully fulfill all assigned tasks and further promote the sustainable development of the VBSP.
