The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) organized a ceremony in Hanoi on March 10 to sign a cooperation program with the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC)’s Commission for Internal Affairs with the aim of preventing corruption, advising and directing the handling of violations in the field of monetary and banking operations.
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Phan Dinh Trac, Member of the CPVCC and Senior Deputy Head of the CPVCC Commission for Internal Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Doan Khanh, Member of the CPVCC and Deputy Head of the CPVCC Commission for Internal Affairs; SBV Governor Nguyen Van Binh, SBV Management Board, senior officials of SBV relevant departments and entities.
Under this program, the CPVCC Commission for Internal Affairs and the SBV will coordinate in implementing several substances such as (i) jointly advising the CPVCC Political Bureau, the National Assembly and the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption in the orientation, mechanism, policy and law on anti- corruption in the banking sector; (ii) advising and making recommendations on principle and orientations to handle serious violations in the banking sector.
Regarding to the form of cooperation, the CPVCC Commission for Internal Affairs and the SBV will coordinate in exchanging information and documents, organizing meetings and establishing the inter-agency working groups when needed. In addition, the cooperation program between the two agencies also clearly defines the responsibilities of every side.
The signing of the cooperation program plays an important role in improving the effectiveness
of the prevention of corruption and violations in socio-economy in general and the monetary and banking operation in particular, thereby contributing to the successful implementation of the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State on anti-corruption and violations of laws, and development of the prudent banking industry.
