On June 24, 2026, at the headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Deputy Governor Pham Thanh Ha met with a delegation from the Bank of the Lao PDR (BOL), led by Ms. Vathana Dalaloy, BOL Deputy Governor. Representatives from several functional units of both central banks also attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Deputy Governor Pham Thanh Ha warmly welcomed Ms. Vathana Dalaloy and the BOL delegation to the SBV. He emphasized that the working visit reflected the close relationship, mutual trust, and increasingly effective cooperation between the SBV and the BOL.
Deputy Governor Pham Thanh Ha reaffirmed the SBV’s commitment to further strengthening the long-standing and traditional relationship between the two central banks, thereby contributing to the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and the Lao PDR.
In a spirit of cooperation and mutual support, the Deputy Governor stated that the SBV stands ready to share practical experiences in monetary policy formulation and banking operations, while actively providing advice and support to the BOL on areas of mutual interest.

During the working visit of the BOL delegation to Vietnam from June 24 to 26, 2026, the two sides are scheduled to exchange views and share experiences in three key areas: organizational restructuring and streamlining in parallel with the modernization of core banking systems; strategies for developing modern banknote printing operations; and solutions to reform governance models and modernize the operations of the National Banknote Printing Plant.

Speaking at the meeting, BOL Deputy Governor Vathana Dalaloy expressed her appreciation for the support that the SBV has provided to the BOL over the years. She conveyed her hope that the SBV would continue to share practical experiences and expertise in management and policy implementation with the BOL.
Deputy Governor Vathana Dalaloy emphasized that such cooperation would further strengthen the solidarity and close ties between the two central banks, while elevating their traditional friendship and cooperative relationship to new level.
