On March 8-9, 2026, a delegation from the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), led by Governor Nguyen Thi Hong, attended the Regular Meeting of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Governors in Basel, Switzerland.
On March 8, SBV Governor Nguyen Thi Hong, Chair of the Asian Consultative Council (ACC) for the 2024–2026 term, chaired the ACC Meeting. During this meeting, the SBV Governor led discussions on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the banking system, financial service innovation, and emerging risks related to model governance, data security, and technological dependence.

On March 9, 2026, the SBV Governor attended the Global Economy Meeting (GEM) and the BIS All Governors’ Meeting. These are important forums for central bank governors to exchange views and update information on global economic and financial developments, share operational experience, and strengthen cooperation among central banks.
On the sidelines of the meetings, SBV Governor Nguyen Thi Hong also held bilateral meetings with Mr. François Villeroy de Galhau, Governor of the Banque de France, and Mr. Chia Der Jiun, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The discussions focused on the global economic outlook and central bank policy management in the context of increasingly complex geopolitical and geoeconomic developments in recent years.
