On September 23, 2022, in Hanoi, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) jointly organized a launching ceremony of the Swiss Bank Executives’ Training Program, which is supported by the Swiss Government through SECO.

In his opening speech at the ceremony, SBV Deputy Governor Pham Thanh Ha expressed high appreciation and thanked SECO for the assistance and support extended to Vietnam’s banking sector through a series of programs, technical assistance projects, capacity building activities, etc. The SBV Deputy Governor emphasized that with the trend of the global economic integration, high quality human resources are a key element for the credit institutions’ successes. Therefore, the “Bank Executives’ Training Program” would provide the participants with the much needed knowledge and advanced management skills, thereby helping them to improve their professional capacity to respond effectively to the emerging challenges and opportunities from the digital transformation.

The Program will be implemented from 2021 to 2026, and it is designed with three consecutive training courses; each course consists of three components: (i) Component for the senior managers of commercial banks; (ii) Component for the Regulatory Authorities; and (iii) Component for the former trainees. With the designed contents suitable for each component, the Program is expected to meet the training needs of Vietnam’s banking industry.
