On April 20, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Organization and Personnel Department under the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), together with Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking (HUB), held a ceremony to announce and hand over the SBV Governor’s Decision on the recognition of Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, and other Decision on the personnel of the University.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Pham Tien Dzung, Deputy Governor of the SBV; leaders of the SBV’s entities; together with the leaders and officers of the specialized faculties, departments, institutes and centers under Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking.
On April 11, 2023, the SBV Governor issued Decision No. 628/QD-NHNN recognizing Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung as Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking for the 2020 - 2025 term. Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung was previously Vice Rector in charge of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking.
In addition, the SBV Governor has also issued Decision No. 654/QD-NHNN dated April 13, 2023 on the addition and replacement of Members of the Board of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking for the 2020 - 2025 term.

At the ceremony, Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dzung expressed high evaluation for the role of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking in the human resource development in the field of banking and finance. He expressed his wishes and beliefs that, the leaders, officers, lecturers and staff of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking would promote the spirit of solidarity within the University, put their best efforts into developing the University and contribute to the development of the banking sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, the Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, expressed his deep gratitude to the Personnel Board of the SBV’s Party Committee, the SBV’s Board of Management for their trust. He affirmed that he would put all of his capacity, intelligence and enthusiasm, together with all of the officers and lecturers of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, to accomplish the assigned tasks, contributing to the development of the banking sector.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung also committed that Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking would continue to promote its past successes, maintain a stable working environment in order to develop the University based on the internal solidarity and the promotion of the spirit of cooperation among each and every member of the University; helping to raise the ranking of the University to become one of the top Universities in Southeast Asia by 2030, heading towards becoming a Smart University by 2035.
