Joint exhibition booth at Sibos 2024

Sibos is an annual event for the finance and banking sector organized by the Society for Worldwide Interbank and Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT). Sibos 2024 was held at China National Convention Centre, with the participation of more than 10,000 participants, including leaders, policy-makers and experts coming from central banks, commercial banks, financial service providers around the world. Sibos 2024 with the theme of “Connecting the Future of Finance” attracted over 125 exhibitors around the world.

At Sibos 2024, the SBV’s Reserve Management Department, in collaboration with four commercial banks (VietinBank, Vietcombank, BIDV, MSB), organized a joint exhibition booth under the name of “STATE BANK OF VIETNAM”, with the slogan of “Green Credit - Green Growth - 'Net-Zero' Emissions Target by 2050”. The exhibition booth not only demonstrated the solidarity and development potentials of the Vietnamese banking sector, but also created an opportunity for the Vietnamese banks to introduce about their services and attract more partners for their business operations. This was the third time Vietnamese banks have organized exhibition booths at Sibos Conferences. (The first exhibition booth was organized at the 2009 Sibos Conference in Hong Kong with the participation of 3 banks, namely: Agribank, VietinBank, and Eximbank; the second one was at the 2015 Sibos Conference in Singapore, with the participation of 6 banks, namely: VietinBank, Vietcombank, BIDV, Eximbank, SHB, and PVcombank).

Within the framework of the Conference, the Vietnamese delegation actively participated in the thematic seminars on the hot topics for the banking sector, including: new technologies, market infrastructure, conformity regulations, international standards, etc.

Especially, the Vietnamese delegation also had important bilateral meetings with the representatives of several central banks, commercial banks and international financial service providers. These meetings not only strengthened the existing partnerships but also created new cooperation opportunities for Vietnam in the finance and banking sector.

The Vietnamese active and effective participation at the Sibos 2024 once again affirmed the position of the Vietnamese financial – banking sector. The Sibos 2024 is not only an event, but also a strategic vision of the Vietnamese financial – banking sector in the digital era.
